How the EFL Cup Simulator works
- 1Choose a round and type a score for each game, or use the dice to simulate it. A tie that ends level goes to penalties.
- 2Press Simulate round or Simulate to the final. The next round is drawn from the winners; New draw reshuffles a simulated draw.
- 3Open the Chances tab to see every club's chance of reaching each round and of winning the cup.
Frequently asked questions
How does the EFL Cup Simulator work?
It starts from the real EFL Cup 2026/27 draw and results. Each club's strength comes from its own league this season (Premier League, Championship, League One or League Two), scaled by the division. There is no extra time before the final: a tie level after 90 minutes goes straight to penalties, and the two-legged semi-finals are decided on aggregate, then penalties. A tie that ends level is decided on penalties.
How is the draw simulated?
Once a round is decided, the next round is drawn at random from the winners (plus the clubs entering). The simulated draw stays the same when you reload or share the page; New draw reshuffles it, and the real draw replaces it as soon as it is made.
How are the chances calculated?
The Chances tab plays the rest of the cup 5,000 times from the current results, drawing the undrawn rounds afresh each time, and counts how often each club reaches each round and wins the cup.
